Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 3, 2026

WhatHaveU ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

Your tool inventory, vehicle information, repair history, skill progression, and savings data are stored entirely on your device using a local SQLite database. We do not have access to this data. We do not maintain user accounts or require sign-up.

2. Data Sent to Our Servers

When you use the "Solve a Problem" feature, the following is sent to our server to generate AI-powered repair instructions:

This data is used only to generate your repair guide and is not stored, logged, or associated with any personal identifier. No name, email, phone number, location, IP address, or device ID is collected or transmitted with these requests.

3. Third-Party Services

Our server uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate repair instructions. Data sent to generate repair guides is processed by Anthropic in accordance with their privacy policy. No personal information is included in these API requests.

4. Data Collection Summary

We do NOT collect: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, device identifiers, IP addresses, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, health data, financial data, or browsing history.

5. No Data Selling or Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your data with any third party for any purpose. We do not participate in data broker networks. We do not use your data for advertising.

6. No Tracking

WhatHaveU does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics SDKs, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking. We do not request the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission because we do not track you.

7. Crash Reporting

We may collect basic, anonymous crash reports through the platform's built-in crash reporting (Apple/Google). These reports contain technical information about the crash (stack traces, device model, OS version) but do not contain personal information, tool inventories, or vehicle details.

8. Children's Privacy

WhatHaveU is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data Retention

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times. Deleting the app removes all data. We retain no server-side copies of your information.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

11. California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. Since we do not collect personal information beyond anonymous crash reports, there is no personal data to disclose or delete from our servers.

12. European Residents (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area: we process minimal data (vehicle/tool descriptions for repair generation) under the legal basis of contractual necessity (providing the service you requested). This data is not stored after the response is generated. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
